Whats the best way to clean the Velour Lining in a jewellery box?

Hi all, I recently bought an old jewellery box as a birthday gift for a friend but as it has been in storage for a while its quite dusty. Now The outside just needs a quick polish and all is fine, but inside it is lined with cream velour and there is a fair amount of dust stuck to it. I did think about just hoovering it but that wont work as a lot of the compartments (ring holders etc) are too small or fiddly for a hoover to reach. I really do want this to be cleaned and looking nice again for my friend so any advice you have is really appreciated.
